About Azar Safari
Azar Safar, an Iranian-Dutch calligrapher and painter, was born in Tehran in 1987. Her journey into the world of calligraphy began at the age of eight when she insisted on buying a calligraphy pen during a shopping trip with her mother. Her mother believed that calligraphy was in Azar's genes, inherited from her uncle, Reza Mafi, one of the leading and most famous calligraphers and painters in contemporary Iran.
In 2019, Azar showcased her work in a group exhibition in The Hague, captivating audiences with her unique blend of classical elegance and contemporary innovation.
